Workplace narrative

A rebuilt pump is back from the shop and the coupling must be aligned before startup. Misalignment - even a few hundredths of a millimetre - will punish the bearings and seals until they fail early. You have your dial indicators, the base is leveled, and the readings are in. Decide what the measurements mean and what to do about them before the plant signs off on the job.
